How to write a good profile
Make it a good one! If you can, get a friend to take it. Take loads with a digital camera and pick the best two or three. Think about what your best features are and concentrate on those. Perhaps you could get your hair done or dress as if you’re going out on a date – this will help to set the mood. Take some time out to have a look at other people’s profiles, and decide which ones you like. What is it you like about them? Note down their plus points or their catchy titles; try to avoid things they have done badly. Turn off your computer, grab a notepad and start writing. People often find it easier to write than type, so why not write your answers out and type them up later? You may find you write a better description without the pressure of a computer screen in front of you. Be honest! This is very important – you will only attract the people you truly want to be attractive to if you are honest with them and yourself. If your profile describes somebody you are not, your prospective dates will be interested in that person, not you. Think about how your friends would describe you in three words. Better still, ask them! Think about your best qualities and sell them. Don’t just tell people about your qualities, show them. Don’t just say “I love music” – what kind of music do you like? Instead say “I love British hiphop – I went to see Roots Manuva last week”, or “There is nothing better than listening to Rachmaninov on a rainy day”. One of the biggest turn-offs, according to some of our users, is bad grammar and incorrect spelling. Double and triple-check what you write, or the next person reading it will be a single person who liked the look of you. So get out your notepad, be honest and be positive. Be specific about the things you like. But most of all – upload a picture!

If you have ever struggled writing introductory emails where you constantly erase (you write the first few lines of your first email and then delete it and start again) then the hints and tips below are for you! They may sound like common sense when you read them for the first time but try them out and you will most definitely make the right online dating first impression.

- Avoid cliches, this highlights you as unoriginal and can also indicate a lack of self-confidence so avoid using anything resembling a cliche even if you do use them in speech regularly.

“How I got the love of my life back”
About two years had passed and I hardly spoke of him. I had a new life with new friends who didn’t know about him. I always felt ashamed about how I let him hurt me twice before. I didn’t want anyone to either that if he ever came back I would take him in a heart beat, because he was mine.
So, one night I am in my room cleaning and I get a call from a number I didn’t recognize. Now, by this time I had contacted his parents, who I met before I left and fell absolutely in love with, to see how they had been and to, yes, hear about him. He had just joined the Army and so was not there. I was surprised, but very happy for him in a way. So, I pick up the call and it was him. It was like hearing a ghost over the phone. I fell to my knees and started to cry. I began to talk and it was as if we had never been apart. It took two days of talking and it came up, the question, what are we going to do? You see, I was in Nevada and he was in North Carolina. So, we decided to get married. A few weeks later he and his parents were in Las Vegas and we got married. A few weeks later we were pregnant.
Now we’re living in Georgia and have two beautiful boys.
I guess what I hope you share here is that when you love someone, I mean truly love someone with all your heart that you just can’t see your self living without them, than you should never give up. He wasn’t ready then, but still loved me and so I let him do what ever he needed to do or let him find himself, whatever it was he finally came back ready to stay. I always knew he would and I just held on to that feeling. Your heart will tell you all you need to know. I know we can’t always do what our heart says, but we can sometimes.

Dating, After You Have Lost Your Spouse
Before you start dating again you should take some time to mourn the loss of your previous relationship. Whether the relationship ended because of divorce or death you need time to mourn. You must accept your feelings and process your sorrow before you can commit to another relationship.
